Happy New Year

Merry Christmas everone,
I hope that everyone had a great Christmas. I sure did we got to spend time together as a family. We also got to reflect on how Great God is. This is my favorite season because it reminds me how much I am loved and how much God has done for me. On Sunday my pastor talked about the new year, as I was listening to him I was thinking to myself how quickly this year has gone by. Also I am looking forward to what God has in store for me this next year.
Happy New Year.
Love,
Marlene

My Birthday

I had a wonderful 30th birthday party. Some friends and their families told my mom that they wanted to come over and help me celebrate my birthday. I thought it was very nice of them since they were supposed to go caroling with some people from their church. When they heard that it was just our family celebrating my birthday they told my mom that they wanted to come over and help us celebrate. I had a great time the kids made homemade birthday cards, and also colored me some pictures as a present. As you can see from the pictures I got blessed with a lot of gifts. I love lotions and body washes so my mom and sister found a lot of it and gave it to me for my birthday. I was telling my mom that my lips get drier up here so she bought me a lot of chapstick. The earings are because in the process of moving from our friends house I lot almost all of my earrings. It was a blessing because yesterday when I took a suitecase that I lived out of when we were at the friends house out of the trunk of my car I found them. I was so exvited that I called my mom and told her. The kind of cakes that I had for my birthday were carrot cake, and a cherry cake. These are two of my favorite kind of cakes. We had a lot of fun playing games like you take a match box and put several different items in it and then you let everone individualy look at the box for a minute and a half and then they have to write down what they saw for memory. We also played hot potato, and a game where you have to try to keep a bolloon in the air and everytime that the balloon comes to you you have to name a animal. It was a great time and having friends and family there made it feel even more special. Thank God for another year that He allowed me to live. blessings to all, Marlene

My New Room

I am so happy we finally have internt at the house. Here are the pictures of my room that I have been promising to have for you to see. I hope that you enjoy them. I don't know if you can tell from the pictures but my room is pink and the wall paper is pink with roses on it. I love my room. We are planning to get new lamps as soon as we can find some that are cute. I hope that everyone has a very Merry Christmas and a happy new year. I like Christmas because we get to focus on what God did for us and celebrate Christ's birthday. May each and every one of you find the true meaning of Christmas.
Love to all,
Marlene

update on what's going on

Hi friends and family,
Sorry I haven't written for such a long time we don't have internet at the house yet. My dad said that we will probably get it very soon. Well we are all moved into our house now. My room is all set up. I will be sending pictures of what it looks like very soon. We are still unpacking our boxes which sometimes seems like it will never end. Slowly we are fixing and doing repairs on the house. I am keeping busy cooking dinner for everybody and helping take care of my nephews. i really enjoy watching them grow up. Peter is now doing a one handed crawl, and trying to pull himself up on things so that he can stand up. It is so cute to see him do this. Paul is now babbling and starting to say a few words. Amy and I were teasing the other day and saying that we think that we are going to regret every thinking that Paul was never going to talk because he isn't talking yet. The funny thing is that now he babbles so much that we think he is going to be talking up a storm pretty soon. The weather here has been in the 20's to 40's. Sometimes we wake up and there is snow on the ground. We enjoy the snow because as most of you know in California is doesn't snow. I hope that everyone is doing well.
Lots of love,
Marlene

almost in our new house

Hi everyone,
I am very excited tomorrow or Saturday we will be officially moved into our new house. I hope that everone had a blessed Thanksgiving. I know my family and I did. We spent the majority of the morning putting the finishing touches on the house and also decorating the house for Christmas. This has been our family tradition since we were little because our family never wanted to get together with us. So we put up our Christmas lights and spend time together as a family. In the evening it snowed while we were at the new house. It was fun to look out the bedroom window and see the streets and the roofs of the houses covered in white from the snow. The temperature here is 20 degrees. Instead of cooking this year some of us went over to our pastors house and had the dinner there. Then we came home and set up the house some more.
I hope that everyone is doing well,
God bless you,
Marlene Steed

Hello friends and family,
I am soooo excited we are making progress on our new house and we will probably be moving in some time next week. My dad has been working hard with the two jeffs painting the room the colors that we wanted them. Sometime within the next couple of days he is going to stain the cupboard in the kitchen. My mom said that she is very excited about this. Today we are getting new flooring for the bathrooms, and on Friday they will put the new carpet in. After the carpet has been put in we are going to start moving some of our things into the house and putting them where they belong. On Sunday some of our friends are going to help us move some of the big things that we can't because it is too heavy or we don't have a truck. We are looking forward to decorating the house and our bedrooms. I was telling my mom the other day I guess that this means that we are offical coloradoians now. She laughed and said yep!!! This weekend I am going to be taking pictures of what my room looks like. As soon as I do I will post them for all of you to see.
I hope that everyone is doing well,
Take care,
God bless,
Marlene
